Essay 1

The United Nations is working towards international peace, promoted exchange and cooperation among countries, improvement in human rights as ‘the world government’. Current Secretary General of the United Nations is Ban Ki-moon, who was a former Korean diplomat and has been in office since 2007. Suppose that you are the future Secretary General of the United Nations, what is an issue that you would want to solve the most, and explain how you are going to tackle the issue to achieve international peace and prosperity.

> The Ban-Ki-Moon, Current secretary General of UN, and his many employees, are sending UN peace army, and fighting for some terrorists and civil wars in the Africa. So, if I could be a secretary general of UN, what issues that I will cover and solve it? As UN is for promoted exchange and global peace, I will rather solve the terror problems of educational, and the environment problems.

First, side of the terror, which reporter Song-Sang-Ho said, it is hard to stop and predict the terror. So, I will help the hard people which fall into hole of terrorism. I will send some volunteers and professionals to cure the people’s feelings. Also, I will regulate the weapons that terrorists have their own. So even there is a terror, its damages will currently fall down.

Second, by the educational, we will have a team project with United Nation Educational Scientific Cultural which is UNESCO. UNESCO thinks education most important. So, if we had a team work with UNESCO, it will give us lot and lots of benefits. We will firstly help their education is low because of war. Like it happened at Korea after the Korean War, we will help some countries by sending books to study and we will repair some schools and the building for children and many more.

Third, we will also take care of environment. Environment is most important, but we are forgetting it because of fast economics and industrial developments. At this time UNEP (United Nations Environmental Program) will be best of it. Every environmental professional will try best to replace the species that they are endangered or almost extinct. Trees, will be take a key word of our plan. We will also make people who cut the tree over the law; get a judge of new laws. Destroying the factories that makes too much carbon Dioxides, make the numbers of honey bees got increased to activate the green factory, Earth.

But, even though I am Secretary General of UN, I need lots of helps and funding under lots of countries. I wish I could make a new world under part of the UN.

Suppose, 20 years from now, you earned an opportunity to work for the Republic of Korea embassy in a country (any kind of your preference) as a diplomat. As a Korean diplomat, explain how you will introduce Korea to that country and what programs can be implemented to improve the relationship and promote exchanges between the two. In addition, describe the goal you would want to achieve as a Korean diplomat.

> Many diplomats around the world are working for their country’s benefits. And if I am a diplomat of Republic of Korea, I will try my best for my country.

Diplomats have a important part of countries and countries, solving problems each other. If I am a diplomat, I will take part Dokdo problem with Japan.

Frist, to the Japan I will make sure that Japan recognizes Dokdo as our territory. I will never allow Japan saying Dakesima is our territory or such like that things.

Second, I will make peaceful partnership between Japan and Korea. There can be a more FTA and more trading.

Third, I will make Japan apologize to 위안부 victims. It is sure war crimes. And they should apologize to our 위안부 grandmothers. Before our victim passes away, I would like to make our victims hear the true apologize by the Japan. – By my goal as a diplomat
