Essay 1

The United Nations is working towards international peace, promoted exchange and cooperation among countries, improvement in human rights as ‘the world government’. Current Secretary General of the United Nations is Ban Ki-moon, who was a former Korean diplomat and has been in office since 2007. Suppose that you are the future Secretary General of the United Nations, what is an issue that you would want to solve the most, and explain how you are going to tackle the issue to achieve international peace and prosperity.

> A secretary general of the United Nation is for international peace and prosperity. They work for many things: politics, economy, and society. If I am the future Secretary General of the UN, I would solve a problem of poverty.

People in wealthy nations live a pleasant life while these in poor countries don’t. They should confront their harsh life. Girls in Africa walk more than ten kilometers to get water, but the water they get contains bacteria which are really detrimental to their health. That water is used for washing, cooking, and drinking. Many people die from using it.

We can’t let those poor people suffer from their lives. Therefore, I will create new laws protect them from dying. Nowadays, many countries make a policy for them, but it is not sustained well.

First, I will reinforce the funding system. UN collects money for the poors and support them. If I strengthen this policy, the people in poor countries will live happier life.

Also, I will construct a building in poor countries and make an organization that can directly help the poors. It’ll be much faster than just donating money for them.

In conclusion, my social problem that I would solve if I was a Secretary General of the UN is a problem of poverty. I will strengthen the system for funds, and establish an organization that can directly help the poors. 

Essay 2

Suppose, 20 years from now, you earned an opportunity to work for the Republic of Korea embassy in a country (any kind of your preference) as a diplomat. As a Korean diplomat, explain how you will introduce Korea to that country and what programs can be implemented to improve the relationship and promote exchanges between the two. In addition, describe the goal you would want to achieve as a Korean diplomat.

> Diplomat’s role is to introduce a country to others and to make a treaty for peace. Now I will describe how I will introduce our country and what programs can be implemented to improve the relationship and promote exchanges between the two.

Frist, I will start convincing developed nations for a treaty. It’ll be helpful because those nations can support us. Our country will be stronger and help other poor countries, too. Then Korea will be easily introduced to others.

Second, I can have FTA between the two countries. They will earn money in their strong industries, and then it will lead to development of both of them.

In conclusion, I will have a treaty; make a FTA for my country if I am a diplomat of Korea.
