Korea, China, and Japan are historically and geographically related with each other. They have had many political, military, economic competition against each other. Today, I will talk about diplomatic issues between them.

 Between Korea and China, I want to introduce 서희’s diplomatic work. It might be the first diplomatic issue that is recorded on the Korean history. It was the time when Korea was called 고려. China’s 소손녕 brought a lot of soldiers and wanted to conquer Korea. But when 소손녕 had a talk with 서희, he changed his mind and also gave part of their land. I think this event was a meaningful issue for Korean diplomacy. Because it isn’t very easy thing to change a country’s mind in one’s tongue.

 Between Korea and Japan, I think Dokdo is the biggest diplomatic issue. Dokdo is a land located in between  Korea and Japan, and it has been the object of territorial disputes because of its advantages Dokdo has abundant natural gas and resources in the seas around it and it was also important place for military in the past. I hope Japan understands that Dokdo is our land and stop this diplomatic fight.

 All three countries have had many diplomatic issues and what I really hope is, I want all of them to have strategic partnership with one another and have a great diplomatic relationship.
